Daniel Kelly
Daniel Kelly took the helm at Community Quest, Inc. in 1993. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from LaSalle University in Philadelphia and a master’s in psychology from Seton Hall University. Prior to Community Quest, he previously served as Executive Director at Easter Seals Cumberland Rehabilitation Center. |
When Dan first came aboard, Community Quest, Inc. was a typical human service organization providing services to people with developmental disabilities and heavily reliant on funding from the State of New Jersey. Identifying new revenue streams became Dan’s ongoing focus. He knew the company needed to diversify to thrive. So, in 1998 the diversification began. In response to the Welfare Reform Act, the company’s services were expanded to assist people progressing from welfare to work. Our employment division, Career Quest, began helping people exiting the welfare rolls find and keep employment. In 2001 the company opened its first housing program that was not funded by the state, a HUD/Federal Home Loan Bank of NY funded independent living apartment in Cape May County.
Dan’s vision for the company took a giant leap forward in 2004. He identified the need to bring diversified funding sources to the company to become less reliant on funding from the State of New Jersey.
Since then the company has undergone many positive changes on our path to self-sufficiency. Under his leadership the company has formed four new corporations:
Home Quest, Inc. is the housing corporation operating our residential programs and developing new projects. Home Quest, Inc. is developing the first permanent affordable housing project for veterans in the State of New Jersey. This will be a state of the art accessible, green building to provide an energy efficient and healthy living environment for veterans.
The Community Quest, Inc. Foundation Board, a 509(a)3 supporting corporation whose sole purpose is to generate unrestricted funds to support the mission of the company.
Med A Quest, LLC is the company’s first for-profit corporation. It is a nursing staffing company whose profits support the mission of the company.
Pivot Staffing, LLC is the company’s second for-profit corporation and is a professional services staffing company whose profits support the mission of the company.
